We've made it to the end of another year. That means something different for everyone for sure. However, whether your year has been one to cherish or one to forget , we all can appreciate the clean slate of a New Year. We get to open that fresh new planner and fill it with hopefully , fresh new goals and adventures. As I open my fresh new planner and start to write fresh ideas for 2023 Bakes , I find myself going way back to the beginning. Thinking about those baked goods that we love to bake just because they are so comforting and good. ... Keep Reading
Big Week Ahead
I'm starting to feel like a child the week before Christmas. We are about to close on our second location. Thank you for your patience while we are finally able to get into the new building and start the process to open in Phelps New York.In hind sight we probably spilled the beans months sooner than we should have. The questions about if and when we were actually opening in Phelps have been daily. Quite honestly, if it were not for all of the questions and dare I say rumors, I would be much at peace with the time table. God is always in ... Keep Reading
Staying grounded in the midst of the Hustle and Bustle
It's a crazy time for us. In less than two years Matthew and I took the plunge and opened a little bakery in the midst of a global pandemic and world economic uncertainty. We are now getting ready to launch a second bake shop while the world seems to be at unrest and uncertainty. Every single day I get the questions of "How and Why are you opening a second location?" Two words for you..... LIVE LIFE.When is there not uncertainty in life ? If we wait for a perfect time for anything none of us would ever move a muscle. Matthew and I ... Keep Reading
Life is an Adventure
A little over two years ago, Matthew and I made the commitment to follow the path where God was leading and open a small bake shop. Fluffing Feathers has been up and running at our, 9 South Main Street Manchester, location for a little over a year and a half. We have had so much to learn and are still learning everyday. Some blunders have left us with eggs on our face. Other times we have brought joy through our bakes which in turn gives us joy. We have left the bakery in the wee hours of the morning only to turn right around and go back to ... Keep Reading
Spread the Love and Have a Fresh Bake….
Happy Sunday !! So thankful for a day of rest. The last couple of months at Fluffing Feathers have been a real challenge. Amy and I have struggled to keep up with the demand and sometimes our longing to please others has had us biting off more than we can chew. (puns are always intended)It's been my experience not to breathe life into the negative, especially when it is so tiny in comparison to the enormous amount of amazing folks we meet and serve each day. Only to say, we have heard the tiny thread of untrue garble.... What we will ... Keep Reading
September Already
As I write this, the rain is coming down. The sound is soothing to me, as I enjoy a morning of quiet. This wasn't the plan, I should be at the bakery whipping up more treats, instead I am filling my soul with some much needed quiet time. I am learning to cherish these times when they are offered. This morning my sweet husband turned to me and said, "stay in bed". He knew that I was exhausted, so thoughtfully he would get the bakery opened and operated until Amy arrived at 8:00. I'm so thankful for Amy. She has been a Godsend. She has ... Keep Reading
