This summer has been incredibly full and traveling at hyper speed. So, when the time allows, Matthew and I try to take the opportunity to run away and have an adventure together. We are so fortunate to live in the Finger Lakes region. There is an adventure awaiting in any direction. Today we headed to Watkins Glen, located at the south end of Seneca Lake. They say that Watkins Glen State Park is the most famous of the Finger Lakes State Parks. Within the two miles of trails there are nineteen waterfalls . We walked up the gorge trail that winds over and under and even behind waterfalls. It’s beautiful in the summer and refreshingly cool on a hot summer day. And after a day exploring the Glen we earned our Ben & Jerry’s indulgence.
It was a great Summer Runaway day today. It wasn’t our first and Lord willing not our last of the season. I hope you too take time to enjoy a few Summer Runaways.
