It's the first Monday in November here in Upstate New York. It certainly feels like November. We have a dusting of snow on the ground and the wind is blowing with a bitter bite to it. So many things going on in the world. I do hope that your corner of the world is safe and warm.Tomorrow is election day and I will not be writing about the election. Only to say that we will be serving a Boozy Cupcake tomorrow for your enjoyment. The alcohol is totally baked out of these cakes, but it is a fun way to ease the stress of the day !! We ... Baking
So, as I start this new venture onto the internet to share my love of baking and much more, the question keeps being asked of me, why and what are you doing?? Life is one big adventure and we all wear many hats along the way. We are each unique and each have our own path. One thing that unites us all as people is food. Maybe that is why I love to bake. It's how I show love and show care. We also all have value and something to share. This will be my little corner to share. Maybe we will find common ground. Maybe the only thing we can agree on is a strong cup of coffee and a warm gooey muffin. That's enough isn't it? Doesn't matter what age we are or color or politics, or whether we are gluten free or vegan, we all nourish ourselves with some sort of food and we are all on this journey called life. For those who live locally check out my menu below. I will be baking for you. Click on menu at the top of my website for more details.
So We Opened a Bakery
This past Saturday we opened the door at the new Bakery. It wasn't our official "Grand Opening", however I did pass word along to friends, family and social media, that our door would be open. It was quite a day for sure.My nerves honestly got the best of me, as I turned the sign to open. It was amazing !! I didn't bake nearly enough and ran out of things faster than I ever imagined. But it was also the most exhilarating feeling ever !! We were overwhelmed by the support of family, friends and complete strangers, coming in and trying ... Keep Reading
Thoughts For 2020
Just like that, our holiday season is behind us and a new year begins. Not just any year, it is the beginning of the year 2020 ! In this new year of even numbers, I'd like to begin with a quick and thoughtful reflection of the past year and then a forward motion look of determination for this fresh new one. Reflecting on the past year, as with anyone, there are highs and lows. We have had great times to treasure and times of grief and sorrow. There were times to be proud of and times that in hindsight, I wish that for myself I had ... Keep Reading
Summer is Winding Down or Speeding Up
I have a love hate relationship with the month of August. It's my birth month and as an August girl, I love to celebrate, but not so much the aging. Also, I feel the need to soak up every ray of sun and enjoy every moment that I can play outside, though I love the Fall season that follows. For our family and probably most, it's a time to squeeze those last memory making times in, as well as preparing for all that September brings. Our youngest is preparing to start college and we have four grandchildren preparing to head back to school. ... Keep Reading
Summer is Here
We waited and we even whined for our summer season to begin. I don't know about you, but for me it seems that each summer passes quicker than the last. We need to savor each day. I'm so thankful to have time to listen to each summer morning awaken. The birds are so happy and the chipmunks and bunnies are driving my two fur boys absolutely crazy. For our family we have had a busy start to summer. We have celebrated the family wedding, the high school graduation of our youngest and are still enjoying the west coast family here with us ... Keep Reading
