Happy Sunday !! So thankful for a day of rest. The last couple of months at Fluffing Feathers have been a real challenge. Amy and I have struggled to keep up with the demand and sometimes our longing to please others has had us biting off more than we can chew. (puns are always intended)
It’s been my experience not to breathe life into the negative, especially when it is so tiny in comparison to the enormous amount of amazing folks we meet and serve each day. Only to say, we have heard the tiny thread of untrue garble…. What we will state is again our vision and goal as we bake and serve you. We are a tiny bake shop with a staff of two. Our vision is to have a cozy place for you to come and enjoy. We have been learning how to serve you each new day. If you haven’t been in for a time, please stop in because we are improving every day. As we approach the Holiday season, we are working on ways to make it the best season yet !
Matthew and I love to go to bakeries. In fact when we ran away to Maine for a early summer vacation we ate our way through so many. I just love to meet small local bakery owners and sample and appreciate what they do. Baking is for me at least, is a real personal enjoyment. Not the large assembly line of pumping product, but the small intimate bakes made out of love and joy. We will more than likely visit another bakery today. It’s what we do. We enjoy celebrating each other and others.
So we have gone back to the original vision and will continue to be closed on Sundays. We all need that day of rest, because Amy and I are baking, the rest of the week, whether we are open or not. We are a staff of two. We can only take so many orders and the great news is that we have so many other great bakers out there as well. There is definitely room for everyone because we are all different. Isn’t that worth celebrating ?? So make room in your day to visit and order from all the amazing bakers in the area. There is no need to ever spend time with a preservative laden manufactured product. Enjoy your Sunday and come see us on Tuesday. We want to see you and hear of your bakery adventures !! 
We just love this time of the year. The beautiful changing colors and the cool weather that makes as all hunker in over hot comfort foods. We have fresh fall fruits to harvest and rich pumpkins and squashes to enjoy. As we embrace this season we will be transitioning some of our baked good selections. We will be introducing some new bars and cookies for the fall and winter season and alas setting aside a few of our favorites until next Spring. We are excited to whip up some new treats !! Not just the sweet but the savory as well.
This past week we had a lovely couple visit our bakery and share of their passion for travel and passion for bakeries. As they showed us some amazing photos of bakes from bakeries all over Europe, it just warmed my heart. Their excitement was contagious !! Also, they just knew we would appreciate hearing of their adventures and sharing their photos. That’s what it’s all about !! We are foodies and we so love to not only share our treats but to converse and celebrate with other folks that have these passions as well.
Thank you for all the support. We long to just continue to keep the fun and pure joy in our work. That may mean that we can’t fill every request but it also means that you will get our very best !!
