This past weekend I was one of six ladies on a relay running team, that took the challenge to conquer one hundred miles of hills and turns, from Stowe to Killington Vermont. We were a seasoned group of gals in our forties and fifties. We all come from different backgrounds and different life styles. Some of us met for the very first time, this past weekend. We had one common goal of embracing the challenge and having fun doing so !This was my first time being on an all ladies relay team, but I'm sure that it won't be my last. There ... Keep Reading

I am Not a Trail Runner
This weekend Matthew and I completed a 99 mile trail run with a group of running friends . Some of these running friends were people that we just met. That is just one of the joys of being part of this type of running event. You make friends quickly as part of a team of folks, that are up to the challenge of pushing themselves to extremes, that they weren't sure they could complete before hand. Our two teams were made up of the best sort of people. A variety of people. Some young and well, some of us not so young. Also a variety of ... Keep Reading
Summer is Here
We waited and we even whined for our summer season to begin. I don't know about you, but for me it seems that each summer passes quicker than the last. We need to savor each day. I'm so thankful to have time to listen to each summer morning awaken. The birds are so happy and the chipmunks and bunnies are driving my two fur boys absolutely crazy. For our family we have had a busy start to summer. We have celebrated the family wedding, the high school graduation of our youngest and are still enjoying the west coast family here with us ... Keep Reading
My New Running Buddy
Judge our Standard Poodle puppy is now 9 months old. He is such a love of a dog and is also a giant, just like his name sake Aaron Judge of the New York Yankees. Even though he looks fully grown at fifty seven pounds of curl and fluff, he is definitely still very much a puppy. My goal is to train him to run with me and we have already had some great adventures. Now if I can just keep him from knocking me onto my bottom. We ran just a little under five miles this morning and I'm pleased to say that this old lady tired the massive pup out ... Keep Reading
Spring Has Arrived
Spring is such an exciting time. Don't get me wrong, I do love winter, but by the end of the season, I am ready to move on and enjoy what is to follow. As the snow melts away, we start to see those little signs of new life. Just today, as I started picking up sticks scattered across our lawn, I noticed hosta poking out of the ground. Then, while on my run, I had the chance to rescue a Woolly Bear Caterpillar, who was making his way across the middle of the road. The days are getting a little longer and the air has the smell and feel of ... Keep Reading
