We are closing in on our six month here at Fluffing Feathers Bake Shop. There are many exciting things going on behind the scenes. Here are a few details. As most of you know this bakery is my "second act", as they say. Baking has always been a passion of mine and I finally took the plunge of a life long dream. With my little bake shop, I have been learning something new each and every day. I've dedicated super long hours and my entire physical and mental health to this project. Some days I have literally spent over nineteen hours at ... Keep Reading
Monday Morning Thoughts
It's the first Monday in November here in Upstate New York. It certainly feels like November. We have a dusting of snow on the ground and the wind is blowing with a bitter bite to it. So many things going on in the world. I do hope that your corner of the world is safe and warm.Tomorrow is election day and I will not be writing about the election. Only to say that we will be serving a Boozy Cupcake tomorrow for your enjoyment. The alcohol is totally baked out of these cakes, but it is a fun way to ease the stress of the day !! We ... But it was also the most exhilarating feeling ever !! We were overwhelmed by the support of family, friends and complete strangers, coming in and trying ... Keep Reading
Finally
Our new brick and mortar baking adventure started back at the beginning of March. Then the pandemic hit and we were stopped in our tracks. Well sort of. It has been our very own DIY journey. Thank you to my sons for their time in helping in this venture. My oldest son Andrew, made the top of my bar, a one of a kind piece of art. A special ... Along with that, we have had an amazing surprise visit from my daughter in law and sweet granddaughter, the last couple of weeks. Top it off with me still filling my Mondays with hair clients and that all equals to mush brain for me. I'm not going to even talk about age. Let that one go !!The family heads back home tomorrow night and that means I will be rolling my ... Keep Reading
Never Let Anyone Take Your Joy……..
Life is good. We have been fortunate and extremely blessed. This season of life has been very good to us. We have our health and we have our beautiful family, our nest is grown, and most of all we have our amazing love. Yes, Matthew and I are aware of just how beautiful a season it is. I'm not writing this to gloat, only to state the facts.Last year I started a new venture. It was something to fill the void that I was starting to feel as the youngest chick began to venture into adulthood. Never did I even begin to fathom that what ... Keep Reading
